can DC residents apply to MoCo schools?

| Do MoCo public schools take any students from DC? Can you apply and pay to attend? What is the price if you can pay? We're interested in Takoma Park ES, since we live in Takoma DC and don't like our in-bounds school. Yes, I know we can do charters, but we're trying to explore all of our options. Thanks. |

| Pretty sure the answer is no. They really screen residency requirements. They want a copy of your lease or tax record if you own. |

Yes, you can, but it's not guaranteed. If they accept your request, you have to pay tuition. This year, elementary school is $14,181. (See the last link).

| Look on the MCPS website schools at a glance to see the capacity projections for the school you are interested in. If its overcapacity they won't take DC students. |
