Market vs WIS k ?

Seeking constructive comments for choosing between these two- kindergarten, girl- we want language, but also want strong math and science and not sure if WIS's program is as strong- any advice would be really helpful from current parents of either school- thanks.

Op here, sorry. That was MARET, not market. Apologies!

If your child was admitted to both, congratulations. Nice decision to get to make.

My child is at WIS. We looked at Maret but did not apply for a variety of reasons. In the end we decided between GDS and WIS and are very happy with our decision.

From talking to other parents over the years, I have the impression that none of the NW private schools are incredibly strong in math and science, particularly in the lower grades. Each manages to have a handful of very precocious students in those areas anyway. If those are your priorities, I would spend some time studying the curricula of both middle and upper schools and speaking to those principals. Good luck deciding.

I would choose Maret if you might want to stay and are interested in STEM offerings.

I believe WIS doesn't use Everyday Math. Don't know about Maret. This matters over time because while "educators" tend to think EDM ok, a review of comments here and elsewhere in cyberspace will show folks with math degrees or other degrees requiring high levels of math skills tend to steer far away from EDM for their young children.

I'll confirm that WIS does not use Everyday Math. They have their own math curriculum.

Op here, thanks for the feedback- don't know much about everyday math- any idea about how the IB science curriculum would compare to maret's?

Know nothing about maret - but dcs were in ib program abroad and all the math and science was a year of repeat when came back to us system.
