Actually, no. I do think in many cases they are comparable. I mean, I think HB is delusional and a liar. But I think that applies to much of Hollywood. |
How the hell are you concerned with someone else's reproductive choices? What does this woman owe you? |
So this thread made it deux moi and someone on there said that she was featured on a magazine that only puts Hispanic women on the cover. Spanish people are ethnically Hispanic even though their race is white (I noticed that this seems to be a point of confusion on this thread). So in that case she did actually benefit. Agree that it’s on Alex to verify. |
| I mean, I guess she lied to Alec about it and just went to great lengths to keep it going. |
Changing your name is in no way comparable to creating a completely fake history including accents and forgetting words in the language you've been speaking since you could talk. If she's doing some Borat-style performance piece then okay, I will agree with you, but chances are it's just a lie that got out of hand. |
| The non-celebrity professors who have been caught out this year doing similar have been more apologetic and self-aware than HB, and they had a LOT more to lose than she does. She can continue to go on with her wealthy lifestyle with her husband and kids on Park Ave. She should just apologize and say she understands allowing this to perpetuate was wrong, and she’s going to go focus on her family now. Geez. |
This is a stupid response and doesn't deserve a reply. |
Since people seem to think her behavior is victimless. I am a nanny. I am also an immigrant. We are the invisible people behind the Instagram posts of baking cookies, homemade baby food, sleeping babies, and organized pantries. We are the invisible people who allow people like this to live their best life. We are the ones with accents, different cultures, hardship, and have to worry about where we get our next paycheck. To take the experience of an actual immigrant and to wear it like cloak when it’s convenient is disgusting. It’s not okay. You say this doesn’t hurt anyone, but I’m here to tell you it does. My nanny friends and I don’t get to wear a new identity to change our status in life. Slap on a new name to be exotic... or get a job. To say no one is hurt, diminishes our experience. Working as a nanny is hard work and when women like that erase us and then claim our identities (accents, language, culture) as their own? No. Not okay. I don’t get to change who I am when it’s convenient. |
| I'm sure that this has been discussed but regarding the Amy Schumer thing, didn't she talk about how someone had to explain it to her and she loves jokes... She was, like, coming across as a person who didn't get it because she was foreign. Home girl grew up in Massachusetts and is white and New England for generations. She is a fraudster. And the most important thing to her she said yesterday, is for people to understand that she's authentic. |
Whether someone pursues IVF is not anyone's concern. But she has made a big deal, received a lot of press, about being "transparent" about her miscarriages to raise "awareness." So she is selective and strategic in documenting some parts of her fertility struggles but purposefully occluding others. |
+1000. You would think her damage control people would advise this, but they seem to defend her. Shes clearly mentally ill. |
And yet you provided one, 17:42. Look at that. |

My sister is a nanny and expresses the same sentiment- that she is helping another family to live their best life while her own life feels like it’s on the back burner. But she does it because the money is better than anything she is currently qualified for. It’s a choice. You can change your direction in life but sometimes it’s easier/more convenient to stay than endure the struggle of doing something new. |
