Hot flashes at 36?

I am almost 36 (this month) and have been experiencing occasional hot flashes and night sweats (like once a week) since last month. I am planning to see an endocrinologist for hormone therapy? Anyone had a similar experience they would like to share? Any endocrinologist recommendations? BTW I am a woman and had my first baby earlier this year.

Please ask to be tested for early menopause--there was an article about this in the Post Health section not long ago under "Medical Mysteries". Apparently it can be diagnosed and treated by an OB/GYN if they know what to look for. Have you mentioned your symptoms to your OB? There is a specific blood test that needs to be done, it was all listed in the Post article. Good luck to you.

They just need to draw an FSH level to exclude menopause. An endocrinologist can do that. But your symptoms could be a sign of other illnesses, so you need a thorough workup.

I had night sweats for quite a few months after my first child was born (age 36). You may find it's just to do with having had your baby.

It's a bit early, and that is a lot of flashes - probably related to the baby, though.
