I am looking for a daly moisturizer for my acne prone skin.
What is good to use and waht's not? |
|
My derm says Purpose brand.
Also try Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cleanser - has microbeads that really help slough off (gently) blackheads that could lead to pimples. I switched to Oil of Olay Complete Sensitive lotion. It's great too. I'd stay away from Department store brand lotions - all of them. They all make me break out. Sometimes cheaper is better, especially in this case. Also, Neutrogena sucks. |
| A little dab of coconut oil |
| Mario badescu. |
Not OP but doesn't oil clog pores? |
| I went to the dermatologist recently and he recommended CeraVe for acne prone skin - there is an AM and PM version. Love it so far. |
| Purpose daily moisturizer |
| I've tried expensive cosmetic counter brands but find that plain old unscented Lubriderm is the least likely to make my skin break out. |
No, quite the opposite. It's great for cleaning and moisturizing. |
| Philosophy Hope in a Jar (or tube) oil free. |
| Clinique acne moisterizer. changed my life. I have no acne and I suffered with bad acne until finding this 2 years ago (I'm 43). Now I have no acne and my skin is completely clear. I use their acne regimen. I tried to stray once...acne came back with a quickness. Wish I'd found out about it in my 20s. |
| Aveeno's face moisturizers are rather awesome. Agreed on the department store ones. |
| What about skin that is also dry but acne prone? |
What consists of the "acne regimen"? I'd love to try. |

I think it's a matter of finding the right moisturizer for you.
I use Neutrogena Oil-free Moisture, spf 15. My skin has been perfectly clear since I started using that. OP, what are you washing with? I've also started using an oil free facial cream cleanser. These two products have really helped me. |
