My best friends from high school are throwing me and my husband a baby shower next weekend. I have no idea what to get them for all their efforts. Does anyone have any good ideas or thoughts for gifts for two mom?
Thanks! |
I gave my BF a really picture frame that I know was her style. Another idea might be a gift certificate for a restaurant. |
An Orchad. You can get really nice ones at Smith and Hawkin....A nice pot and you are set. |
I gave my sister and MIL manicure gift certificates to Eliz. Arden. Guess that won't work for the husband - perhaps you could give them a dinner for two gift certificate? Clyde's has gift coins. We also got a Whole Foods gift certificate once -- that was nice -- let's you have a nice dinner at home at your leisure! |
We also gave restaurant gift certificates-- which were very much appreciated by our hosts. |
I bought my hosts some cute pajama sets from Gap Body. |
Stupid question - do you give the gifts at the shower - or send them with your thank you note? Or is it your preference?
Three of my neighbors are throwing me a shower for the cul-de-sac where I live. I like the idea of a nice plant/flower (orchid) - but not sure about bringing in 3 orchid plants with me to the party. I was thinking I could leave the plants on the doorsteps with the thank-you cards attached the next day. Thoughts? (sorry for the hijack) |
I had my shower at a guy friend's apartment and sent him a Best Buy gift card in the thank-you note. (and gave him one of the bottles of wine left over from the party.) Another friend drove down from CT to help out and brought a cake, so I took her and her husband out to dinner, and sent her Godiva truffles and a Barnes & Noble gift card in her thank-you note. A third friend has loaned me tons of baby stuff - including a crib - so I sent a generous Target gift card in her note.
apparently I am big on the gift cards. ![]() |
What about something special from www.etsy.com? |
This is just a preference, but my thank you gifts are always gift baskets from wine.com. Assuming your friends like wine...they are reasonable, e.g., under $50 and a novel idea. Then again, we're all winos...and I am now living vicariously! ![]() |
Since I'm having a girl I bought each hostess a rose quartz necklace from Banana Republic (they are pink of course). I gave them to the hostesses after all the guest had left along with a personal thank you card. |
