shopping at discount websites (zulily, gilt) without returns

do you do it? how has it worked out? do you only buy stuff you know (like stride rite in size 9 b/c your kid wears SR in 8)? or are you adventurous?

i feel a little uncomfortable buying off of zulily, but there are a bunch of tempting sales - swimsuits, women's dresses - but all brands that i've never seen in a store or heard of...

I only buy things off zulily if a. I know the brand or b. it's cute but so cheap that I won't be too upset if it ends up not fitting or being less than great quality.

I'm actually less bugged by the no return policy than I am by their steep shipping costs. Over the years though, I've gotten quite a few really cute outfits for DD.

I only buy stuff I know. Like Jelly the Pug dresses SR shoes TAG and ACME stuff.

I got burned out twice with stuff that came damaged and they gave me store credit.

Same as the PPs. I only buy something if I know the brand and the sizing or if its a non-wearable item (kitchen stuff, home goods, coupon for use on another site, etc) and it's a good price.

Zulily is great. I always size up. Some of the stuff is cheap for a reason...but for kids, it's great. I find their selection of girls clothing to be better than the stores at the mall.
