I just had one removed. From what I read they are common in older women. Don't seem to have long-term effects. No one really knows for sure what causes them but I actually wonder if they may be a response to fertility medications. I know several women who got them during fertility treatment and they are also associated with hormone-replacement therapy, which seems to be similar to some ART drug protocols. So???? It's just a hunch. Anyway, the doc who did my removal didn't seem to think there would be much of an issue. I guess it would depend on what procedure you had. Mine was just a D&C. OP, what procedure did you have?
