I bet most of those aren't even remotely qualified. In this economy, people are applying to everything and anything with hopes something works out. Good luck! I’m sure you have a much better chance than the rest of the 9K.

Our boss bragged that 900 hundred people applied for one of our jobs and said " we are really luck or the economy sucks" in unison...
