Have you considered a meet-up type forum?

People are always complaining about their inability to make friends. Recently, someone got my email regarding helping with a job and we had them over and maybe will become friends. It seems like a shame that there isnt a forum for people who might be looking for new mom/dad friends or playdates, etc.

Is this something that has been tried before?
