Elementary School-Aged Kids

Hi, while I'm on family leave from my academic job I'm considering tutoring but I have no idea how much people pay per hour around here and so don't know if it would be worth my time. So how much do you pay for tutors for your grade school, middle school, high school kids?
Thanks! |
Kingsbury charges $75 per hour -- not sure how much of that the tutor gets. I've used them in the past and they were good. Right now, I pay our tutor $35 per hour and he's great.
I live in Fairfax County and have paid $50. per hour for various tudors for various kids in Middle and High School. I felt it was money well spent. The tutors were usually teachers on maternity leave.
Thank you for your responses.
I have a neighbor who works through Tutor.com. Not sure what he makes though.
$50/hour is the going rate in Fairfax County. I have tutored for 5 years and that has been the norm for all those years.
In Potomac, MD the going rate is somewhere between $70 and $90/hour.
Mont County certified teachers who tutor on the side often charge $50 or $60....this includes the Potomac/Bethesda areas.

In NW DC, top tutors typically charge between $75 and $85 an hour. The very best, most experiencef can get $100 an hour or more.

If you are specialized, a physics tutor for example can get $80-90/ hr.
