At what point do you settle for less?

I have been job searching for 2 months. Several interviews, no offers yet but still waiting on one that I have high hopes for. Unfortunately, its not my dream job and probably wont pay as much as my last job. Thankfully, we have a few more months before we take a financial hit so I have time to look but how do I know when its the right time to settle for less than what I want?

How bad is it to take a job and keep looking and possibly leaving a short time later?

it's not ideal, but it puts food on the table and gets the job done you know?

sometimes the ideal or even the close to ideal job is not there. honestly no one would blame you. Be as professional as you can, but do what you need to to support your family.
