I just had my first appointment with Dr. Bathgate at GW. Would like to hear recent experiences on labor and postpartum at that hospital. Thanks! |
Dr. Bathgate isnt my MD but I believe she did my cerclage. Is she tall and slim with glasses? If so, she was informative and did a great job for me. However, when I see her at the office she is not friendly at all. But she is probably just busy. My doctor there is Dr. Macri who is great. He establishes great rapport with his patients and is very knowledgeable. |
Dr. Bathgate isn't my MD, but she did deliver my son. I had a very fast labor with no issues so I never saw an attending (that I remember--can't say for sure that was the case) until shortly before delivery. A nurse and med student were with me the entire time (both were fantastic) and the chief resident checked me often. Dr. Bathgate came in just as my son was about to be delivered and supervised the chief resident and med student. She was very, very nice and reassuring--telling me what a great job I was doing, how smoothly everything was progressing, etc. She also seemed very dedicated to teaching and was explaining various things to the med student/reminding the chief resident of some things as everything progressed. She also checked on me and my son later in the day in the post-partum room. Overall, she was very friendly and relaxed and had a nice bedside manner. |
Dr. Bathgate was there when I delivered my baby but she really didnt do anything at all - it was all the resident (and me, of course). I had Dr. Gaba as my regular OB, but she was out of town when I delivered. I dont think I ever saw Dr. Bathgate again. The resident however, came in to check on me several times and was great. |
I don't know Dr. Bathgate, but I delivered at GW a few months ago and had a wonderful experience. Dr. Macri and Dr. Chahine were the doctors while I was laboring, Dr. Macri delivered, and I was downright impressed with how great I was treated during labor and post-partum. The nurses were, without fail, incredible. Even the med students were nice. |
