If you choose to send your child to an elem school that is out of your area ( in moco) do they still provide bus service?
I would like DD to go to the spanish immersion at Burnt Mills elem but its not our local school. Just wondering if we would have to get her there and back or if they provide a bus. |
For immersion, they provide buses, but it won't be at the regular bus stop by your house. You may have to bring your child to your assigned school or another one that's not too far away, and the bus will take them to Burnt Mills. Once you get to know the other immersion parents, you can coordinate carpools--your kid won't be the only one there, waiting for the bus by herself. |
Also, they are constantly threatening to take the busses away and reminding you that bussing isn't guaranteed for immersion students. it's a lovely way to keep us feeling secure in our school choices and encourage families with two working parents to take advantage of the program .... NOT. |
I wouldn't count on carpooling. 99% of the kids in our program live very close to the school so in our instance not one parent is anywhere near us to make a carpool feasible. Also I believe busing is school specific ie most provide it but one or two don't. |
