| I have a yeast infection and began a 3-day treatment with monistat last night. I think I'm starting my period today. Instructions on the box say not to use with tampons. Does that mean just not after inserting the suppository (which I wouldn't do) or not at all during the course of treatment? Also, is there any point to treating this during my period, as it will only provide a moist environment for the yeast to grow? |

Sorry you're dealing with this. I'm pretty sure you shouldn't use any tampons because the Monistat needs to be absorbed by your body and tampons interfere with that process.
I hated suppositories. Any way you can get an rx for fluconazole? It's a pill you take that clears it up. So much easier. I've found Monistat sometimes does not work |
| Thanks for your kind reply. Your advice was pretty much what I was thinking. I forgot about fluconazole. It's Saturday now and my doctor's office is closed. Guess I'll hope for the best. |
| I would finish out with the treatment if you started it and just use pads not tampons. It's only 3 days. |
