Or, have you already stayed through 4th grade somewhere and been satisfied with your child's progress?
I'm looking for schools other than JKLMMO, though fine to chime in if you're at one of these. |
Brent. Currently in 4th grade and considering 5th.
Brent. Perfectly acceptable, although still working out some bugs.
Maury, no question, through 5th
Staying in Brent through 5th here.
Brent through 5th then to private middle school.
Brent through 4th grade then to charter.
We are staying at SWS through 5th, both kids. Or, at least, that's the plan.
OP, just a broader point if your children are smaller (mine aren't). We stayed through 5th in a context where the average parent, in say 2nd grade, didn't feel that was wise (you know, looking at test scores, following the crowds, seeing attrition etc.). And it worked out very well for our child, who is an advanced learner in virtually every area. The opportunities for personal and academic growth that stem from the continuity and from the personal bonds that form with all teachers and administrators at the school are tremendous.

Did this with our first and plan on doing with our second as well. |

^^^ Double ditto
Wow! Really wish I was in-bounds for Brent - lots of happy, long-term parents represented here.
Ross, though not sure what we will do about MS.
