Preschool Admissions Decisions

I've heard admission decisions are trickling in. I thought I would start a thread for us to share acceptances/rejections. I'm still patiently waiting. Anyone else hear their good/bad news?

We have been unbelievably lucky and I'm still pinching myself - our daughter received a spot at our three top choices in Alexandria. (Emmanuel, Trinity MOPS and Fairlington.) But now I have to choose, and I wasn't expecting to be in this situation!

I know that St. Paul's sent out their first round... but it's a really small school so I doubt that helps many people! Good luck to everyone out there waiting....

Got offers for both 2 year old and PDO for my 1 year old last week from Kinhaven. I had three days to give them an answer. Due to the fact that they will be moving in 2015, I let the offers lapse. Still waiting on Arlington Unitarian and Westover Baptist. Arlington Unitarian is my #1 choice. Should hear from both in early March based on when their lotteries are being held.

I will also add that my 2 year old was something like#24 on the wait list at Kinhaven but when I found out there wasn't a long list for the PDOs I put my 1 year old on the list simply to bump the 2 year old to the top of her list (priority goes to siblings). It worked at Kinhaven, now just hoping it works elsewhere.

I thought Kinhaven was moving in 2014? But where to is the question?
Have not heard from them. Mt Olivet had their lottery, and the waitlist is up!

There "where" is what got me and tipped me into passing on the offers. They said they were looking in a 3 mile radius. If they went too far north the drive would be too tough for me. And, you are right, they will be moving fall 2014. I got my years mixed up. Sorry!

Got a fat letter from Little Folks today, but it simply was the application for their summer camp. Am guessing the other letters will start coming in a few days.

The preschools, and later, you will see, the higher level schools, almost all manage to get you their summer camp offers well before they share acceptance information. Imagine that.
