How hard is it to get into Norwood for 1st grade?

Anonymous
A friend has applied for her DC and is stressing out about it. Apparently the child did well on the visit and has very high test scores. I thought Norwood was not super competitive, as much as say Maret or GDS, am I wrong? Poor thing she's counting the days until they hear...

It's competitive but first grade is an expansion year.

Norwood can be funny. Some strong candidates flat out rejected. I suspect that they screwed up in the interview or play date.

They also have a huge sibling preference so there are fewer spots.

Of course, if you follow the "can't bring myself to sign the renewal contracts" thread, and believe it.... There might be more hope.

I have heard that there are a sizeable amount of applicants for first grade and many of the other grades at Norwood this year. Good luck to your friend if Norwood ends up being a good fit. It's a fabulous school.
