best time to buy skis?

| Can anyone recommend a DC area ski shop where I can buy skis for my kids, and what is the best time of year to buy skis (best sales?). I'd love a shop that has an annual ski swap so we can exchange skis as the kids grow. I'm open to used skis but would want to buy them from a shop, not on ebay or the like. Thanks. |

| Had good experience with Ski Chalet this year; prices were reasonable and help was very good. For kids, they have a trade-in program that seemed very good, would highly recommend. When to buy would generally be end of season or pre-season when they are likely selling last season's stuff. Ski companies change something on the skis every year but, for kids, rarely are the changes significant or worth the added cost. |
