Excuse me for not knowing any of the appropriate abbreviations.. Just started trying again this month for baby #2 and I'm anxiously waiting to take a pregnancy test. I have regular 28 day cycles. The first day of my last period was feb 1st. We had intercourse feb 14th. I know it's only been 5 days now but I have been having headaches the past 3 days, slight cramping in my left side, and ive been way more tired than usual. Good possibility it's all in my head but still hopeful. Any thoughts? |
5dpo (days post ovulation) would be early for any symptoms related to pregnancy. It's more likely that you're feeling the usual rise in progesterone that happens right after ovulation. You can start testing in another 4-6 days, but its not likely to come up positive until 11+dpo if you're pregnant. |
Also, the standard answer for odds per cycle for timed intercourse is 25%.

Are you taking your Basal Body Temperature (BBT)? I'd suggest you read up on it and chart it after taking it first thing when you wake up (before you even move out of bed). I use the free Fertility Friend app to chart. I've been Trying to Conceive (TTC) for about 8 cycles now and find it very helpful - even more so than any sticks or monitors. I can see the natural rise of body temps that indicate my cycle is progressing and when I see them fall back down, I know that I am not pregnant - even a few days sooner than a test will tell me. It also helps me keep track of how long my luteal phase (LP) is - an ideal is about 14 days.
I too am about 6 days past ovulation (DPO) right now, and the waiting is torturous - as it has been every month of the past 8! Good luck to you! |
I got my positive test last night!! Have you tested yet? |
2/19 15:35 here.
I tested yesterday morning. It was negative, but haven't yet gotten my period. My thermometer broke a few days ago and so I haven't been able to monitor temps. Finally got a new one and it showed still above the coverline, but barely. I 'm not feeling hopeful but who knows, right? congratulations to you, OP! |
