Where should we eat Saturday night?

Anonymous
We lived in the DC Metro area for many years and moved away 2 years ago. We'll be in town this weekend and will be kid free Saturday night. Can you suggest someplace for us to have dinner/drinks? We're coming from the Caps game, so I'd prefer not to need to dress up. Bonus points if the restaurant is newer (as in since 2011 or so) We're flexible on cuisine.

TIA

Do you want to be near the Verizon center? Haven't been but i've heard good things about Graffiato, which opened summer 2011.

Graffiato is really cute, right in Chinatown, and supposed to be great and not fussy

Graffiato is great. There's also a new Japanese noodle bar next door. It only opened a few days ago.

DH was recently at Graffiato and said the food was excellent but it was very very loud, so if you want more of a romantic setting I wouldn't go there.

I was underwhelmed by Graffiato. I definitely recommend Proof, right across from the Portrait Gallery. Awesome cocktails, fabulous food and wine, wonderful service.

Litte Serow. Ha. Waited in line for well over an hour (in line before 5:00) just to be turned away. They could only seat our party of four at tables for two at different times. I would love to try it, but the no reservations policy is BS.

Graffiotto is great and you need a reservation. It is right across from the back of the Verizon Center.

Graffiato is really freaking loud. Like Metallica loud. You have to not mind that. I wasn't wowed, but lots of people are.

Proof is nice. Great wine list and nice service.

There's lots of new stuff on 14th Street. Pearl Dive Oyster Bar, Estadio, El Centro, Masa 14.
