I am currently about 31 weeks pregnant and this morning it seems I am carrying much lower. Is that normal? Is she moving into birthing position or is it that she was just wigglig around last night and in a different position? I also don't "feel" pregnant this morning. Maybe I'm just being paranoid so I thought I would check in with my DCUM community for thoughts ![]() |
Yep, I was in your shoes not too long ago. In fact, my baby dropped about 34 weeks (or at least that is when I really noticed it) and so friends, coworkers, and family were convinced it was a boy because I carried low (I had a girl though!).
Some days I felt preg. other days I didn't. For me, it depended on how many salty foods I ate because they would make me feel bloated so then I had to chug a ton of water to balance out. I also noticed if I didn't stick to my exercise routine (approved by doc.) then I would feel like a gigantic boat. Congrats. and enjoy the rest of the preg. |
OP here: Thanks so much for your reply. I was wondering how long after she dropped did you deliver? 31 weeks just seems early to me. At my last sonogram the doctor did say I was probably about 9 days ahead (based on baby's size). |
I'm not the PP, but I thought I'd tell you what I can. My son dropped pretty early -- around 32 weeks, I believe -- and measured about 2 weeks ahead throughout the entire pregnancy. He was on the large side (8 lbs 13 oz and 22 inches), but also came 6 days late!! |
Then of course you can be on the opposite side.... I am at 36.5 weeks and still do not believe baby has "dropped" at all. |
OP again. Thanks so much for the info. I feel better now. And as an added bonus, my back which has been aching for the 6 weeks is only mildly hurting today. I wonder if the shift improved that. ![]() |
In my pregnancies the baby dropped a little later, about 36 weeks, but what you describe sounds a lot like yours may have dropped early. I find its a lot more comfortable when the baby does drop so maybe your just lucky that it happened earlier! |
