What size rice cooker?

We're a Chinese family with four adults and a toddler in the house -- looking to replace a basic 5ish cup rice cooker that I've probably had for over a decade now. Looking at Zojirushis and options are making my head spin. But mainly trying to figure out whether we should get the 5.5 cup or 10 cup rice cooker. We have an average sized kitchen and I'm concerned the 10 cup rice cooker will be huge. Anyone have thoughts re 5.5 vs 10 cup rice cookers? And any thoughts re Which model of Zojirushi? Looking at Micom vs Neuro Fuzzy.

i have a 10 c, but honestly usually make about 3-4 c at a time. i have a dinky small kitchen, but i use it about 3-4 times a week so we leave it out on the counter, but it's worth it to me.

For what size family? We use a rice cooker at least 3-4 times a week too, but counter top space is already spoken for...

I just bought the 5.5 cup fuzzy Zojirushi at Costco and LOVE it. I make steel cut oats every night on the timer for the morning and rice every night. I easily feed my family of 5 with this size.

5.5 cups is fine. We had one growing up -- two adults, three kids. I think my parents still have the same one from my childhood! We usually make 1 cup per every two people. Dh and I will sometimes make more for leftover fried rice... But that's more than plenty

For the oatmeal poster: would you please give me more details on this - timing, water/oats ratio, etc. I've tried it in the crock pot with decent results, except that it cooks in 3-4 hours, even on low, and I prefer to sleep longer than that!
