Which elementary schools should we consider?

Anonymous
We are moving to Montgomery County from NW DC and are looking to buy a home for a MAX of $950K. We had looked at Westbrook, Rosemary Hills/CCE, Somerset (too pricey) and now want to expand our search. Any ideas of areas we could afford that have reputable elementary schools and aren't too far out? We prefer to be as close to a Metro as possible but obviously a good school is our primary concern. TIA.

Any of the Bethesda Elementary schools will be great.

W high school districts (e.g., Whitman, Winston Churchill, etc) and BCC district. I think some report just came out listing the top 20 MD high schools. Check that.

OP here. We were thinking B-CC for HS, but that's a long way off.

Bannockburn, Carderock Springs and Wood Acres are excellent elementary schools (many could argue better than the ones you listed) and have homes in your price range. You wouldn't be walking distance to a metro but probably within a 10 minute drive.

I agree with this. I would look for the house you like and not try to narrow down based on ES.
