Belvedere Elementary AAP

What do you think of AAP at Belvedere?

Seems DCUM is dominated by parents from handful of schools, and the south/southeast is way underrepresented, like the AAP there.
My kid is going to Belvedere this fall, and I'm curious too. Unfortunately I don't think many parents if any from that area are here.
From what I heard, it's one of the smallest AAP centers, not enough kids to fill up the two AAP classes, so there will be some GE kids mixed in. Will find out in May.
BTW, are you moving to, or already in the cluster?

In cluster but not sure about staying.

NP here. According to their website, they have about 145 AAP kids for their 3 (3rd, 4th, and 5th only) grades. That would be about 48 per grade, so 2 classes of at least 24, no?

I know one of the 3rd grade AAP teachers there as my DD had her in another school. That particular 3rd grade AAP teacher is AMAZING but I know nothing specific about Belvedere as an AAP Center.

My daughter is in AAP at Belvedere. The center is much bigger this year. We have 3 third grade AAP classes. My daughter is loving it and the principal is great.

Also, GE kids are not mixed in as a pp stated. Even back when our center was smaller they had 1.5 AAP 3rd and 1.5 AAP 4th classes. Seems like pp was trying to incorrectly imply something negative about AAP in our part if the county.

This was very informative, thanks!

I'm the pp, and my kid is going to Belvedere for the APP this fall. I think I read it online about the mixing GE kids. If not true, I apologize. I know the cluster is underdog in the county, and we are consider moving, like the OP.
And thanks for the information. I'm feeling better now.

Does anyone have kids who went on to AAP at Glasgow after Belvedere? Just curious about continuing in the pyramid.

I'm the one whose daughter goes to Belvedere. We have heard only good things so far from the families we know who have moved on to the center at Glasgow.
