We are moving to a house from an apartment- we do not even have a power drill! So I decided that since it seems like a sensible deal, I would look at "combo" tool kits.
Boy, am I overwhelmed! 18 volt? 19 volt? Lithium battery, non lithium battery? I like the idea of DIY and DH is sort of handy, we want to do minor things like put up crown moulding, fix minor issues ourselves, etc. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I would like to get something that is decent quality but not too expensive. I feel like there are a million different kits with different tools and I don't know what to get! |
| Honestly? Don't get a combo kit. Lots of the combo kits have poor batteries and do not have sufficient power behind them. |

I wouldn't worry about the brad gun that comes with most of the combo kits. Get yourself a 19V or higher Li battery Drill/Driver with a drillbit/screwdriver set and when you want to do like the crown rent a PasLode gun.
Milwaulkee makes some of the best but Craftsman is a good one too and a good bit less expensive. |
LOL - good luck! This is fairly skilled finish carpentry - you'll need a compound mitre saw, BTW. I'd avoid "kits" and just buy a few basic handtools to start. You can add as needed. |
| hammerdrill. just get one. |
