white subway tile.
rowhouse galley kitchen. was thinking white-ish quartz but also like the look of a black |
| I like honed black granite. |
| What colors are the floors? If they are cream/white you probably need some contrast somewhere. If they are wood you have more leeway. |
|
I have dark gray granite with white cabinets and white subway tile - really love it! Looks kind of like this: http://www.decorpad.com/photo.htm?photoId=63154

| Go for the contrast. |
| I like contrast, but black counters show every fingerprint, so be prepared to wipe down often. |

I needed to lok at a lot of photos to understand what I liked when I redid my kitchen. The finished kitchens blog was helpful for me.

I agree. Either way, go for a matte finish. That super-shiny polished look is dated. |
| Galaxy black is timeless |
| Depends on the floors and backsplash |
| Dark. How about soapstone? |
Yikes! The pots and rack look terrible in this photo. |
gray - if you do choose to go shiny, rubbing alcohol plus a drop of dish soap in a spray bottles keeps them beautiful
|
| Anything but white. |
|
Black. White is way too stark. I have white cabinets and soapstone counters.
Go to Houzz and look at the photos of white kitchens and see if the white on white is too much for you. |
