Wasn't impressed by the Grammy performance. What song should I listen to to see if I like them? |
The Cave |
Lyrics that make you think instead of numbing your mind.
Weep for yourself, my man, You'll never be what is in your heart Weep, little lion man, You're not as brave as you were at the start Rate yourself and rake yourself Take all the courage you have left Wasted on fixing all the problems that you made in your own head But it was not your fault but mine And it was your heart on the line I really fucked it up this time Didn't I, my dear? Didn't I, my dear? Tremble for yourself, my man, You know that you have seen this all before Tremble, little lion man, You'll never settle any of your scores Your grace is wasted in your face, Your boldness stands alone among the wreck Now learn from your mother or else spend your days biting your own neck But it was not your fault but mine And it was your heart on the line I really fucked it up this time Didn't I, my dear? |
Mumford and Sons is indie music for people who listen to the radio. |
The Cave, Little Lion Man, I Will Wait, their cover of the The Boxer. I haven't really heard anything on the Babel album O don't like.
But honestly, if you don't like music with a folksy sound, you aren't going to be impressed with them |
Never heard of them before the Grammys. |
All my Au pairs from Germany love them so perhaps you're the wrong demographic. |
Timshel. Awake My Soul. Roll Away Your stone. As a faithful Christian I find their lyrics can be very spiritual. My DH thinks all their songs sound alike. I don't care if they do. I can't get enough.
The Grammy performance had weird sound and the lighting was terrible. Disappointing. |
Agree with PP that the lyrics actually make you think. Also respect that they play the hell out of their instruments. |
I like that they actually play instruments as opposed to loops of synthesizer sounds
I didn't see the Grammies though |
This! They are folk rock, which isn't as done as much. (I think they are ok. Not really my cup of tea.) |
Are you talking to me (14:18)? If so, not sure if it's about demographics (I'm 32), but rather taste in music. |
I will preface this by saying that I typically only listen to rap, hip hop and r&b. Well I stumbled upon mumford last year and now I have ALL of their albums! I love the folksy feel to their music. What I love more is the song The Cave. I tend to not listen to the whole album but Ill skip through and listen to the songs I like over and over again. I know this is going to sound weird but some of their songs remind me of Old Negro Spirituals. Anyways, I digress. I didnt see the grammys so I cant speak to that. But I do know that Mumford is amazing! Go to you tube and listen to the Cave and I'm sure you will agree: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KkUeRPjc-Y |
^^PP here. I also love Little Lion Man. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLJf9qJHR3E |
14:18 here. Also lover of rap, hip-hop & R&B. While I do like other music styles (Gotye for instance), I'm just not getting this group. |
