Go to the open house. Talk to the current-parents who attend (from the PTA), and see if you can meet them at some other time to get even more info. You're not going to get much more info or love from DCUM ... 'tis better to make those connections yourself. Disclaimer: My kids go somewhere else, so I'm not a direct Tubman booster. But I've heard good things. (And good things at many other schools, of course.) |

| My friends go there and love it. They are especially impressed with the principal. Go to the open house and give it a shot. I wish more families in that neighborhood would consider it as an option rather than only going with charters. |

We considered it, and were in fact strongly predisposed to send our child there. And then we visited. And then we went elsewhere. Meeting the principal was a big part of that decision. I'll let OP come to his/ her own conclusions, but please don't assume that the neighborhood families are dismissing the school without giving it serious thought. |

When is their open house? I'll go check their website after I post this, but in case it's not easy to find... I'm sure more than me would like to know.
