Birthday event on cruise

Whole family is going on NJ to Bermuda cruise this August, for my dad's 70th birthday. Three kids - ages 3, 2.5, and 1. I've been put in charge of coming up with the "birthday activity" while on the trip. I need help planning this - I've never been on a cruise, and I don't have much experience planning these kinds of things. Any ideas? Should it just be a birthday lunch on the ship, or perhaps something onshore? TIA.

I would call the cruise line and talk to a representative re: ideas. I am sure you could purchase something special to be delivered to your dad's cabin. Or you could order a birthday came to be brought out at dinner. There may also be a room on the ship available for parties/gatherings.

Birthday "cake" not "came." Also one other idea would be to take a fun excursion off-shore altogether. And make sure you get a photographer to take a family picture.

With kids those ages, trust me, you're not going to have one minute of fun (been there, done that)......

If it's a Carnival ship, how about playing ring around the rosey in the sewage?

The cruise is a great place for little kids if they will go to the daycare. The "special birthday cake offer" on our cruise line was +$110. we just got a cake a dinner. The cruise itself is your celebration! PS Dont go on the cheapest line. We went RC. Good luck!
