Prabal Gurung for Target

Anonymous
Has anyone seen this line in person? I have not had the chance to go to a Target to see it for myself. What do you think? Cheap or cute?

I have seen it in person. Cute from a distance, but cheap-looking up close. I ultimately decided against buying any of the pieces because I think I can buy higher-quality items from H&M or the sales racks at slightly more upscale stores. I went to Anthropologie this weekend and bought a dress and two skirts on clearance -- all three of the items cost less than an equivalent item from the Prabal Gurung for Target line.

Did you see- the neiman marcus line- very little sold and I saw it several weeks later 70% off. Wondering what happened there. I think Missoni was very successful.

I liked the Missoni line and the Liberty of London line. I wish they would not use so many synthetic fabrics though.

I bought a great Prabal silk blouse from J Crew at the beginning of last year. It is gorgeous and v. haute couture, but it wasn't exactly cheap either. The Target line looks a bit cheap and teeny boppy. I thought the Narciso Rodriguez line for Kohl's was executed much better. Looking forward to seeing what Derek Lam will do as well.

I loved the Missoni line, but I purchased from the Kirna ZabĂȘte line in the fall and the dress fell apart after one wearing. It was so cute but to meet their price points the quality was just terrible...

Looks cute in print and on a model, but looks cheap and poorly made close up. I've never had any luck with the "designer" target lines - they just don't fit my body. Plus, the fabrics they use are ghastly. I agree with a pp, if I want inexpensive, I hit H&M, or consignment.

I don't understand why they can't use cotton! Or Merino wool! Just because the stuff isn't pure silk doesn't mean it has to be polyester crap.

Meh, I think it's pretty ugly.

This is the way I feel about any designer line at Target. If you want it for one or two uses, fine. I personally don't want to spend money on poor quality.
