cost of IVF with MDIPA at SG for 2013

Anonymous
Does anyone have recent information about how much IVF costs with MDIPA (Fed plan) at SG? A quick search of the archives seems to indicate it will be around $3500 (not counting meds). Is that about right for 2013? Is that figure for one IVF cycle? If you did all three MDIPA-covered IVF cycles, would the cost be $10,500 plus meds?
TIA!

$3200 excluding drugs. Folks here say drugs cost around $300 per cycle.

Does anyone know if the MDIPA (Fed plan) covers PGD at Shady Grove? And if not, does anyone know how much it costs out of pocket per cycle?

No it doesn't cover it. I think it is around 2500 but I will have to double check that number to be sure.

Ok - so I double checked and it says the PGD Biopsy is 1500 (not covered). Then it says PGD lab test billed by actual lab.

Hi,

I was wondering what you ended up paying for PGD. I was quoted $6400. Did MDIPA cover any of the PGD?

Thanks!!!

PGD (screening for a particular, known issue) is $1500 like PP said, but there is also PGS, which is more extensive and expensive and must've been what you got the $6400 quote for. Neither is covered by insurance.

It's definitely PGD, screening of embryos for a single gene defect, thymine uraciluria. Hmmm.... I'm checking with another company. I know we are the first couple at SG where both partners are carriers. To quote SG "not sure if it can be screened for". Like I said, it's extremely rare. Could it be so expensive for the reason of rarity?

I just spoke with another company and they quoted us $4500. They also offered matching a lower price, if we found one. I didn't realize this business was open to negotiation. Very interesting.

22:53 here. Ok, so the $1500 must be for the PGD biopsy, like 08:33 said, but then actual testing costs extra and can vary. I just clearly remembered the $1500 from the cost breakdown I received from SG.

Ok, gotcha. So SG will be $1500 and testing will be $4500 at company. Thanks so much for your help!!
