Experience with Nespresso repair - is it worth it?

After about a year (and probably 1500 shots), our Citiz seemed underpowered. At the recommendation of the Nespresso people at Bloomingdale's, I descaled it (if you do, flush it through about 20 times not once!), but the coffee is still not very good. Any experience with having these machines repaired? How long do they usually last in good working order?
