| Heard word of mouth that one student was led out in hand cuffs.... |
Maybe you should go ask on Fairfax Underground. |
| If it ain't APP, no one cares right now. |
| mo' money mo' drugs |
| It could happen at any high school.... but people tend to dismiss it when it's at Langley, and they tend to say "of course" when it's at Mt. Vernon or Falls Church. |
Sounds about right. I would guess on the average it happens a lot more at Mt. Vernon or Falls Church than Langley. |
Bull. They tend to start threads about it if it happens at Langley and ignore it if it happens at Mount Vernon or Falls Church. Not nearly as much schadenfreude in the latter cases. |
| Drugs are a lot more prevalent at the higher-income area schools. (And even more so at the private schools). Kids at lower income area schools are much less likely to have access to money. |
| I would think drug use occurs more frequently at Langly due to the excess amount of cash the students possess. In college, the students who worked two jobs weren't the ones doing drugs. The former private school/wealthy/frat types did a lot of drugs. It was a culture and experience they brought with them from home. |
| Exactly. Drugs and drinking are common among rich kids. The low income crowd can't spare the cash. |
Exactly. That's why there is no substance abuse in wards 7 and 8 in DC. Poor people definitely don't drink or buy drugs. |
| Then it must be true? Thanks for posting OP!! Any chance you're a Highlander? |
Or they commit crime to obtain money to buy drugs |
I seriously doubt a Highlander would have posted that at 9:31 last night. They would have been too busy celebrating the back-to-back girls and boys varsity basketball wins over Langley. My assumption was that a Saxon parent started the thread. On the bright side, I've yet to read about any major bleacher damage or melees at the McDonalds during or after the games this year. I think the schools' common support for Coach Hess's daughter has brought the schools closer together. |
We're talking about young teens here. Totally different situation. |
