| My favorite place for margaritas, Fajita Coast, has closed. Mi Rancho's margaritas suck. Is there any place in SS that makes a margarita that's better than the cheap premade mix with a splash of tequila? |
| The Fajita Coast on EW Highway closed?!?! Say it ain't so! |
Yes! I'm devastated. |
| Nooooooooooo! Where will we drink this summer while ignoring our kids in the sandbox???? |
| I don't know. I've been sad ever since I found out. We can't have anything nice. |
| Eh, we ate at Fajita Coast when it was near Woodmoor. Perfect for dinner with the kids. But food was mediocre ad service was terrible. Sort of surprised the margaritas will be missed. We like Mi Rancho a lot. Austin Grill strictly for drinks (go top shelf) and chips and salsa works well. |
| We like Pollo Mex. But it's a bit far out - nit sure if you are looking in downtown SS. |

Jackie's? 8407?
I have a feeling those may be a different vibe than you're looking for. But I bet the margaritas are killer. |
| The frozen margaritas at Fajita Coast were awesome and the patio and sandbox were great for the kids. Agreed that the food was so so, but I have been to every Tex Mex restaurant in Silver Spring and Takoma Park and none have particularly good food. Mi Rancho' s margaritas (frozen and on the rocks) are the worst I've ever had. |
Does Pollo Mex even serve alcohol? It doesn't look like it from their online menu. |
| Yes they do. |
| Does Samantha's have good margaritas? The food is. Wry good. |
They have good margaritas on the rocks but not good frozen ones. The difference between a good and not good frozen one is whether the place has a margarita machine or uses a blender. The blender ones are weak and flavorless because they are mostly ice. |
But frozen margaritas aren't good margaritas.

I was waiting for that! What can I say? I grew up on Cactus Cantina.
