Salary bump from GS 15-10 to SES?

Anonymous
Contemplating a move from a GS-15-10 position to an SES position. I know that I would lose the ability to earn credit hours as a result, and am wondering how much of a salary bump there might be. Anyone done this? Also, I recall hearing a few years back talk of granting SESers 8 hours vacation a pay period right out of the gate (I think to make up for the fact that many folks come from outside and are consequently high level folks w/years of experience getting only 4 per pay period). I currently get 6 hours a pay period; have been a GS 15-10 for ten years, if that makes any difference to whatever OPM rules constricts future possible SES salary.

Anyone out there done this or something similar?

I think the SES pay range is something like 120-180k-- they don't get locality pay so the bump is not as great as you might think in the DC area (but I am not SES or HR so I might have got that wrong).

You probably get a bump up to the low $160's plus you get a percentage raise each year until you max out at $180k and a nice bonus (usually 10%) if you get a good rating. Nice club to be in as you also get to carry over use or lose annual leave until you hit 720 hrs
