Hello, I'm expecting in May and will need full time daycare starting in September. We want the best care for our baby but our budget is making me look for something around $1,000 per month. Is it possible to find good infant care with this budget? We live near Landmark/Cameron Station. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Look into home daycares. You likely won't find a nanny or center daycare that cheap.
You'll never find a daycare in Alexandria that cheaply. Lowest I found was $1,300/mo. Even with in-home daycare you're looking at about $1,200/mo.

Don't let the posts scare you, you can and will find something. It may not be as close or have exactly every perk you may want.
Here's a start....goggle dss virginia licensed day care. Should find you the state site, plug in your zip code and start there. Get on you neighborhood list serve and ask for recommendations. Good luck and congratulations |

Here's the site I mentioned.

I pay $250 a week in Alexandria, but not near you. I think your budget is doable if you focus on in-home daycares. Most in-homes probably won't know what openings they'll have until the summer, though.
I charge $250 a week for infants. I am located in Alexandria, south part of Fairfax county.
I have a great referral for you - Nahid Hosseinjani through Infant Toddler Family Daycare. She is less than 10 minutes from Landmark and she is absolutely wonderful!! I am not sure if she has a full-time spot opening in September, but definitely reach out to her. ITFDC has some of the best prices in the area.
Thanks for the recommendations and assurance that this is doable. I really appreciate it! Question for the person recommending Nahid. Did she care for your child? And if anyone wants to explain how ITFDC works, I'd appreciate it. I gather from the website it's a referral service?
you really need to check out itfdc for yourself. It is a referral system but they have to meet trainings and so forth. Go to one of their information nights.
ITFDC is not a referral service. It's a non profit family day home system, licensed by the state. Fees are paid to ITFDC, but you negotiate schedules with the providers.
