Looking for a 4+BR SFH for about 800K, in McLean or within a 15 minute drive. Looking for good schools. Thanks so much!

Why don't you just look in McLean?

McLean resident. Agree w above poster, just jump on your friend on-line real estate site, and look. There is stuff in that range. Some of it may be purchased for knockdown, but there are houses in that range.

All sounds good, but the market for 4 BR in McLean in that price range is pretty thin right now. I might also look in the part of Vienna (22182) closest to Tysons. Schools will be good.

I would look at 22101 (the older part of mclean and eastern side of 123), falls church 22046, 22043, and vienna 22180 and 22182.

We live in the northern part of falls church (not city, but near mclean and N arlington 22207) and we love it. There are a bunch of $800k homes that would fit the bill in these zip codes.

OP here. Thanks so much for your responses so far.

Kent Gardens tends to have more of the older homes in that price range. Here's one on Westmoreland that, if you wanted to pop to the top or out the back (yard is decently sized) you could get your fourth bedroom: http://www.redfin.com/VA/Mc-Lean/1825-Westmoreland-St-22101/home/9475492
