Update and Advice Sought: SAHD Re-entering Job Market and Seeks Professional Career Assistance

Anonymous
I posted a couple months ago that my SAHD husband is going to re-enter the job market in the Fall. Some of your suggestions were very helpful.

He has been through some basic career counseling now and done a Strong inventory. He has decided to target federal jobs in the GS 9/10/11 range.

Now, he would like to speak to a professional who can work with him on targeting federal jobs (using input from him and his Strong inventory results), adjusting his resume, submitting applications, knowing the ins and outs of different agencies, etc. Someone who specializes in this and wouldn't charge more than $300 or so for the whole process.

Any specific suggestions?

i know there are books out there on this stuff for federal applicants. start there. there used to be a washington post chat too.

but it is tough and can take a long time. if i were him, i'd be open and cast a wider net realizing that the first job isn't going to be the forever job.
