part time legal job ideas???

Anonymous
I practiced law for 3 years and then chose to pursue law school administration because of the lifestyle. I have a 1.5 year old son and am still having such a hard time leaving him each morning. I am still working in law school administration 5 days a week but desperately want to find a part time job. I really don't care whether the position is in a law school, law firm, etc. I am very open to any ideas (ex: legal editing, practicing again) but am not sure how to find out about opportunities. Does anyone have suggestions? If you have a J.D. and are working part time, can you tell me what type of work you are doing and where so I can learn about possible opportunities? Thanks!

You might be able to find a part-time library job. Try the Law Librarian's Society of DC website, they have job listings : llsdc.org

If you can stomach document review, all the major firms hire contract attorneys or staff attorneys. I've been told that they are pretty flexible on hours, as you pretty much work what you want to. It's mind numbing work that I wouldn't want to do, but it pays pretty decent.

Try www.momcorps.com. They seem to have more and more postings for DC area jobs which require a legal background.
