I volunteer weekly and met a guy at this place who also volunteers. For over a year we've casually chatted. My job is coming to an end and I realized he knows a lot of people so last week asked if he knew anyone in my industry. Turns out he knows someone in a decision-making position at exactly the type of company I'd like to work at. He told me to get his email address from the volunteer coordinator and send my resume to him to forward on to the guy. I got his email address this morning, but how do I word the email? I do not think he will recognize my name when he gets my email so I'll have to say something about "Elizabeth gave me your email address as you suggested last Friday at the hospital, so here's my resume. Thanks for saying you'd pass it along to Joe at Mobil. See you this Friday!"
But it needs to be more filled out? And probably more formal, yes? |
