I want to surprise DH with a fabulous meal out this Friday evening. (I realize it's likely short notice to get a table, but I'm going to give it a try.) Looking for recommendations for someplace fancy, with super food, excellent service, not too loud, good wine list. While I'm not looking for a geriatric experience, I'm going more for a sophisticated dining experience rather than the priority being a hip/trendy night on the town.
Please help and share your recommendations! Thanks! |

| West End Bistro |
| Bibiano, J&G Steakhouse at the W Hotel, BLT Steak, Equinox, Capitol Grill (Clearly, a lot of steakhouses are coming to mind....) |
| And the steak restaurant at the Four Seasons. |

That's Bourbon Steak. I ate there last week. It was very very good and probably fits all of OPs requirements. The crowd was also surprisingly young given the prices. I'd also try Rasika although reservations could be tough. You might start with open table and see what's even available for Friday night. I suspect it won't be too much unless you are willing to go late - like 9ish. |
| If you're willing to do it in Clarendon, come to Liberty Tavern, Lyon Hall, or Tallula! All fabulous. |
| Limo to Inn at Little Washington? They do get cancellations . . . . |

Rasika.
Blue Duck Tavern might not be fancy enough, but I love it. Restaurant Eve. I love Komi but wouldn't want to sit through that kind of a meal after a long day of work. (JMO) Maybe Fiola? |

Those suggesting Komi and Rasika, while they are amazing restaurants, you need to make your reservation a month in advance (for Komi, a month in advance to the day, as their very few tables get reserved immediately).
OP, Little Serow (owned by the owner of Komi) doesn't take reservations. You just have to be willing to show up early and stand in line for an amazing meal. |
| Ris, you can eat with two people and not feel like you are an after thoght. |
| I was reading about this place called "Seasons Pantry" and it sounds awesome.... |
| I just adore Little Fountain Cafe. So small and romantic. http://www.littlefountaincafe.com/ |
