Do colleges still print paper catalogues?

College is way off for my young kids, but my 8 year old was asking about subjects you can study in college soningotmout my old course catalogue to show him. Do colleges still have these in hard copy, or is it all online? I always liked just thumbing through it to see what courses were out there--glass blowing for chemistry majors, butchering in the ag college, etc. it wouldn't be the same online.

Columbia has a catalogue. It's more like a book.

most still seem to have some kind of catalogue. I think it's for parents/rpospective parents more than the kids. I know my DD only looks online. They usually have stacks of them in the admissions office.

They still have them. Although, I haven't actually seen one lying around. Everything is online. DS has never actually had a hard copy at his school.

Saw them in admissions office during the college tour/interview process. Agree with PP that they are probably for parents more than anything else.

I have two kids at Columbia and both spent some time thumbing through the catalog the summer before freshman year. They were just amazed by the number and variety of courses. Watching them page through the catalogs brought back memories of my own excitement at the prospect of starting college. When it came time to register for courses, though, they went online. I wonder where those catalogs are now? I hope they were recycled in some frenzy of (parent-ordered) room-cleaning!

Haha! There's a reason I mentioned Columbia - my DC got in in December and has already picked out classes for next year.

Yes, mostly now w/o photos since those go into the glossy marketing brochures.
