I put more faith in what I read in Cochrane reviews than what I read in my local paper or hear on mainstream media.

And here's the opinion of Richard Horton, Editor of The Lancet, July 2010:

"Users of the medical literature should start paying more attention to the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews [the database of Cochrane Reviews in The Cochrane Library], and less attention to some better known competitors."

I appreciate Cochrane because they cut through bad research, but there's also a long lag time. There's been so much amazing work on the gut-brain connection lately, for instance, and anyone affected by related disorders can't wait for Cochrane to accumulate enough to work with.
