Really like Carrara marble but wonder if it will be too much maintenance with kids. Sealing, staining etc. Granite is too flashy for me. So am thinking of a solid surface but most of the ones I have seen just look cheap. Any ideas, thoughts? Maybe I just haven't seen the "good" ones?
By solid surface I mean engineered composite, all different companies. I believe one is Corrian another St Paul.

Quartz countertops are nice.

Any particular maker for the quartz? Is that an engineered stone?

Home depot has a decent stuff thats solid surface and feels like stone

Any of the engineered stone (quartz) products will work well. Marble isn't really that much maintenance in a bathroom vanity setting. Any of the major counter top showrooms will have plenty of varieties to check out.
Not OP, but I was also wondering about this. I really like carrera marble, but I'm wondering what the staining issues would be in a powder room. It's not like there's going to be food or coffee on the surface. Would something like toothpaste (e.g., blue gel) stain marble? |
We have discoloration on our marble from exposure to regular toiletries, and also etching because the top was polished.
