| I used to buy oysters in a box of a couple dozen before I moved here. Anyone know of a wholesale place to buy oysters? |
Alternatively, can you recommend a great raw bar/restaurant that serves oysters on the half shell? Or oysters Rockefeller
Yumm! TIA |
| For retail (they also do wholesale but to restaurants), A & H in Bethesda has oysters and an excellent selection of fish. |
| Clydes Tower Oaks has oysters. Also the Grilled Oyster Co. in Cabin John Plaza, Legal Seafood in Montgomery Mall or Bethesda, Black's in Bethesda, and I would think O'donnells in the Kentlands would. Or venture down to the Palisades to BlackSalt. |
| Crisfields in Silver Spring for raw oysters and an old time experience. |
| Thank you PPs. I'm new to A&H and Clydes, & Blacksalt. I've tried all the others. They were all very good. Would be nice to find a less formal, carryout wholesale to bring home. I have kids and date nights are few and far between. I'm a pretty good cook. Keep the ideas coming! |
| 16:40 Just checked them out. Crisfield menu is right up my alley. Thanks! |

Harris teeter sells a box of 100 for about 35 dollars.
I bought them from the park place location. You need to call ahead to make sure they have it. The deal is sent to my email because I am a VIC card memeber, but is never in the paper so check the price. |
You. Are. Awesome. Thank you this is what I was looking for. A big box of oysters!!!! Yay! |
| I didn't find any near me. Don't see a park place, unless you mean Bethesda, PP? Any other recs? |
| Maybe that poster meant Park Potomac Ave in Rockville. It's just off of Montrose heading west toward Seven Locks Road. |
Sorry park place is Monopoly, Park Potomac is correct. Easy mistake.
|
| OP here. Many thanks! |
| The oysters a on sale this week at Harris Teeter. BTW |
| Are we talking bay oysters (smaller and a PITA to open) or the bigger ocean oysters? |
