I have heard this, and I am looking for something specialty (haggis) for the weekend. Does anyone know where this grocer is?
Thanks. |
| Yes. Let's Meat on the Avenue. I can't see Haggis on the website though. Maybe you could get it on special order. |
| Call the guy from Let's Meat on the Avenue. It isn't a British store (he is Australian I believe), but he is able to special order. |
| Alternatively, call and speak with the owner of Extra Perks (a cafe in Old Town). He is British and may be able to point you in the right direction if you strike out with the butcher. |
| The Aus trail an butcher has kangaroo meat for Australia Day on Saturday if ant Aussies out there |

OP here. Thanks. He couldn't help, but I did find a website to ship frozen haggis next day.
Thanks for the help! |
| You're brave, OP. I'm doing lamb/oat meatballs with my neeps and tatties--wasn't up for haggis this year. I am doing a trifle, though! |
| I'm doing veg haggis with neeps and tatties. Looking forward to Rabbie Burns' night! |
He is British - at least he lived there till his 20s. |
There is no such thing as a veg haggis! If it isn't filled with disgusting stuff (the heart, liver and lungs of a sheep) it is just a sausage. |
OP again. With enough drink, none of this matters

There are a number of Scottish companies that make veg haggis, including my favorite MacSween, which I used to buy when I lived in Scotland. Wish you could get it here! http://www.macsween.co.uk/our-products/macsween-vegetarian-haggis/macsween-vegetarian-serves-2-3/ But I agree with OP...with the right whisky, it doesn't matter. |
