I grew up with lots of Italian Americans and we had a Regina in my class. In maybe fifth grade we had a substitute who pronounced it so it rhymed with vagina. For the rest of her time in school until she went to college the boys called her Regina Vagina. Don't do it! |
| I mention the italian thing cuz there's a bunch of Italian names which are actually associated with the virgin Mary, very catholic. Regina is in honor of Mary, queen of heaven. Knew an Immaculate, for immaculate Mary, without sin, etc |

| I was rewatching the Duggar’s Counting On, and I still think Jessa Duggar has you all beat. She named her kid Spurgeon, people. Spurgeon. |
I give, who is the JOY? |

I know two girls with Mackenzie except they made it stupider with : MacKenzie. Gotta add that capital K so you know how fancy she is |
A Veterinarian Hospital I hope |
This is my husbands name. His real name. He is over 50 and not a Stardust kind of guy at all but it suits him |
My surname has that second capital. That's not because we're fancy but because a name like McDonald means son of Donald. You could ask why they are naming their daughters "son of".... |
I'm trying to remember off the top of my head, but do DC birth certificates even have lowercase? I think it may be all caps, like: MACKENZIE SPURGEON SMITH or something like that on the birth cert. |
| Lyndleigh |
| Bryler |
I didn't ask to see her birth certificate. That NEVER occurred to me. Just know the kid as the daughter of one of my friends. That's how they spell it. |
When you think about it, all names are arbitrary and ridiculous. They're just a bunch of letters and syllables put together to create a sound or in this case a name. Just because society has recognized and adopted certain names as normal doesn't make an original name silly or stupid. My husband's name is Peter. . Say it thirty times fast and it starts to sound kind of arbitrary. And silly as well. So why are we judging how other people essentially choose to put sounds together to create a namem |
