While the 05 Spirit have lost a number of games, their results are improving over time. Appears their development strategy is starting to take hold. And no, my kid doesn’t play for them nor am I a coach for them.

It’s too bad area’s ECNL, DA, and top EDP teams don’t play each other. I’d like to see an 05G DC metro round robin with Bethesda ECNL, Pipeline/Wash. Spirit-MD, Montgomery Rush Coyotes, McLean ECNL, VDA ECNL, FCV DA, and Wash. Spirit VA DA. Loudoun and BRYC in this age and gender are not very good, so they sit this one out. Two groups of 4. Play each other twice, home and away. Then take top 2 and play finals. Call it the Metro Cup. Play over course of fall and spring with finals in Early June. Only 3 extra games for most teams in fall and again in spring. Could also have a tier down bracket with top area teams from CCL, NPL, NCSL, ODSL, and ASL squaring off. Same format.

Not sure why you provided this response if your kid doesnt play for the 05 team. How do you know of their improvements? You seem to be familiar with the team. Were you ever part of the 05 team?

I looked at their game scores and talked to some parents and players from the team that I know. I’ve also seen them practice over at Arrowbrook and listened to their coaches. I did say “starting to take hold,” not “complete.”

What is their development strategy? Recruit from McLean 05?

Can somebody rank the best 05 teams in the area please

Good call. Anything else would have been met with cries of "troll" and or "sockpuppett" followed by "I have no dog in this fight, but the coach is excellent at making the kids carry out his vision. Call Tom Torres today to schedule a training session"

The poster has no dog in this fight. He/she just saw those teams practicing at Arrowbrook, spoke with the parents, and heard the coaching instruction. He was impressed with the players ability to carry out the holistic vision being preached by the club. Hence, the poster ranked the teams accordingly.

Visit: www.spirit.com for additional details (so I've heard. I have no dog in this fight)

What fresh steaming garbage, again from the Spirit hater. You can leave the board for days but rest assured this individual, affectionately known as “Sock,” will continue to post her less than witty sarcastic remarks and other negative drivel.

Truly, what on earth did Spirit ever do to her or her kid, we’ll never know.

I don't even understand the point of listing WSVA 06 or 07 (?), but this set of comments has so much I don't understand. Some questions for whoever you all are to answer to clear it all up for me and others. How many McLean 05 went to WSVA? ECNL, Green, White. How many were really McLean? Whats the point of listing non-05s above? I've never seen the pro-WSVA or anonymous post much about 06,07 teams are or are not. Is there even an 07 team? As the parent of a u11 watching the DA ECNL changes, we all know WSVA will not have developed most of their players beyond a year or 2 until 2021, if the club even lasts that long. What are the geniuses pointing out other than the obvious? It's not a big drive from one side of Tysons to the other. The more options the better in my opinion.

PP is likely trolling WSVA. WSVA not top team in the area nor is 06. 07 doesn’t even exist. ECNL has standings and DA post scores. Pretty easy to figure with that data.
