Children are legally entitled to get a free and appropriate education. As long as they are here they should receive that education.

I personally do not believe it is a waste of money to give children a high-quality education. The more access to child has to quality education the less likely they will live in poverty and rely on government handouts or be incarcerated. Every time I hear a conservative argue that we are spending too much money on education ( particularly for special needs and English language learners) I question whether we really think about what is the cost-benefit analysis of not educating children.

The conversation about immigration is a whole other issue. The political will to either reform immigration or mass deport the undocumented just does not exist in Congress. Republicans are basically in a lose-lose situation where either option will cause them to loose voters

Didn't illegals bankrupt Arizona public schools? After some reform, illegals fled and their school system ran a $50M surplus. Nobody wants to attend Dallas public schools because third world students who don't speak english soak all the resources.

I am wondering what the source of your information is about Arizona public schools?

Also, there are about 160,000 students in the Dallas Independent School District, so evidently it's not true that nobody wants to attend Dallas public schools.

AWWWWWWWW, you poor baby. You cry racism when someone doesn't agree with you. Although there are many issues at play, not taking responsibility for ones actions is a huge factor that has contributed to the black community being in disarray. Liberals, stop giving them a free pass!

I just had a friend tell me that in Switzerland there is a language test to be admitted to a public school. If you don't pass, you are sent to a so called integration school. Once you have learned the language, you can go to a regular public school.
I think this is smart, bright kids who just haven't been in the country long enough to have learned the language can quickly test out, while all kinds of slow learners can get supports without hindering other kids' education.

Are you saying that if you don't know another language than you are slow? If so, than there are a lot of "slow" Americans who don't know any other language but English!
